SIM doesn’t work

Hi,

I had issues recently when on my phone appeared the message: “SIM card non detected”. This happened many times but then the SIM was working after switching off and on my phone. Today, I lost signal entirely. I’ve removed the card and put it back, and switched off and on many times, and unfortunately nothing is happening. I can’t even call 150 as the WiFi calls is disabled as well, so I’m completely stuck!

Hello @Geoffrey51190

Welcome to the community.

I am sorry to hear this is happening.

Do you have another device you can test your SIM in?

Katie

Hi Katie,

Yes I’ve tried to put the SIM into my partner’s phone and it still doesn’t work so I guess the issue is coming from the card.
I did requested a eSIM unfortunately I couldn’t go through the activation as I needed a code sent on my number, and I lost signal completely as the physical SIM isn’t working at all anymore. Therefore I’ve requested a new physical SIM card and hope it will work.

Hi,

I just received my new SIM card. Unfortunately it looks like I still don’t have signal …

The difference this time is that it looks like my phone is detecting the SIM card as it asked me to unlock it - which I did. But the status remains unchanged, I don’t have signal at all. Please help!

Edit: Yes I’ve turned the phone on and off

@Geoffrey51190  You’re SIM card needs to activate this can take up to 24 hours but try turning the device off/on again a few times as this help register the sim on the network.  Sims only roughly take around 4 hours to activate at most though.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your reply. Okay maybe I just need to wait then. Although I hope I don’t need to actually activate the SIM before using it as it should send a code to my number but I can’t receive any message without signal with my old SIM. On the letter it says if it’s a replacement I shouldn’t need to activate.
