Recieved with new sim in but would like to keep old phone number . I don't need a code as not changing supplier is that right.  Can  anyone actually  walk me through how I do this  it  would be fantastic . Thank you

Changing your phone whilst keeping your number is called upgrading, and if you purchased your new phone as an upgrade you would keep your number as a matter of course. You would simply move your existing working SIM into your new phone.

If you have purchased your new phone as a new connection with a new line, then you need to return that phone under 14days cancellation (assuming you bought it online or via telesales) and purchase it from scratch as an upgrade. If you bought it in a retail store, then there is no such cancellation rights.

If you're on PAYG, then simply move your existing working SIM into your new phone.

Thanks . I have been bought a new phone as a christmas present . I currently am using a bog standard 20 year old phone . I wanted to keep my old number from that phone  and pay as you go rather than use  a new number . This person has put the new sim in and added £10 to start as well . My old mobile is EE and the new is also EE.  If you can help from that point it would be appreciated . Thanks

The well-intentioned purchaser adding £10 has complicated this, and potentially there is no workaround as PAYG credit is non-refundable.

Your number is on the SIM, and - as per my previous post - simply putting your existing working SIM in your new phone, transfers that. You would need to contact EE CS to ask if they can transfer the credit from your "new" number to your "original number", I am unsure if that is permissible.

If not, then there is no solution to this, and you will need to use the £10 credit under its number, and ensure any future credit is on your original number.
