Preactivated replacement sim not working

I have just received a replacement sim for a new device after losing my old phone and sim. It is supposed to be preactivated yet when I put it in my device nothing happens. I cannot currently receive any calls or texts on my device.

@Smith241 It’s not pre activated at all, it’ll take up to 24 hours to activate but it’s usually no longer than 4 hours. Try restarting the device a few time as this can help the network see the sim.
To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.
