PAC Code issue

Hi there

I bought a new phone and contract in store yesterday and gave the PAC code from Vodafone to the customer advisor.  The sim card in the new phone seems to be activated to make calls but the phone number has not moved across despite it being over 24 hours.  The sim on the Vodafone old phone still works.

How long does it take to port over and why is the Sim working on the new phone but with the wrong phone number?

Thanks

Hi @Ryan20234,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

Your new SIM card will have a temporary number until your transfer completes.

What time was your new SIM activated yesterday?

James

around 2pm yesterday

That's great @Ryan20234

Your number transfer should complete before the end of the day.

James

Thanks James.  If it hasn't done by tomorrow I will reply again on this chat.

Hi James

This still hasn't transferred over.  Any idea what I need to do?

Hi @Ryan20234

Thanks for getting back to us.

Please give our customer care team a call on 150.

The team have account access and will be able to check the status of your number port.

Katie

just because I know this information, Vodafone is terribly bad at porting out from their network.  The porting process goes, new provider sends request to old provider to move the number, old provider should send the details to the new provider which then allows new provider to complete the number porting.  Vodafone are very bad at that response part, so the delay is likely to be with them.
