O2 > EE - Transfer time for sim card?

Good Evening,

I've finally made the move to EE after being with O2 for 15 years. Having just signed up online (via BT), my order is placed for my sim only plan and after giving my PAC code, my number is being transferred.

I've just had confirmation that it will be completed in 24 hours which is great. However, i don't expect to get my SIM card in the post by then? How will the transfer happen and will that mean I'll be without any service for a couple of days?

I am currently on an ESIM on O2 so will this be transferred and that's why it will be quick?

Thanks
