New sim

Hi everyone,

I have transferred from giff gaff to EE sim free contract. I am keeping my old number, everything was set up over the phone including my PAC number with my code from giff gaff. How will I know once everything is transferred.

I have been told it will take 24 hours, everything was done over the phone at 1:30. I was then informed to insert my SIM card and make a call to activate my card. I was told that I can put my old giff gaff SIM card back in until my EE is up and running

I'm really glad to hear that @Annabee2.

It can take up until midnight for the port to fully complete, and you may find service being split between us and your new network whilst this is going through.

On the off chance you did notice any issues by tomorrow, please get in touch with our team and they'll be happy to take a closer look.

The 24hours quote is a tad misleading.

When you first activate your new SIM by connecting it to EE's network, your PAC is submitted - your port-in will normally be set for the following working day.

If you do so after approx 4pm on a weekday, it may not submit that same day - thus if you do so on a Friday, the "next working day" timescale may stretch to 3 actual days.

Thx is for this, it was done after 1:30, I have put my old sim back in so that I still can retrieve messages etc. I was informed that I should get a message from my old provider saying that service no longer in use. Then I can put new SIM card in, hope this is correct

Good morning @Annabee2

Welcome to the EE Community 👋

Was it around 1:30 pm on Thursday that you popped your EE SIM in?

Your number should have began transferring early this morning if that was the case, and will be completed by midnight at the latest.

You may notice this switch sooner than that, though.

Peter
