how can I recover my ee number back?

I was away for more than 1 year with familiar problems and I want to come back, but when I put the card in the phone, it no longer has a signal

@Claudiu27  Then the number is gone for good.  To retain a number you have to request it to move to PAYG and then you have to use it at least every 2-3 months.

if Sim cards are not used the network doesn’t know that you wish to retain the number, so the number eventually goes into hibernation for lack of use and then it gets recycled, there isn’t a infinite number of phone numbers.

@Claudiu27 : Was it on contract or PAYG? If it was on PAYG & you haven't used it for over 9 months you've lost it for good.

It was contract

@Claudiu27  if you terminated that contract it’s still gone for good.   If you didn’t keep up with the payments the for the contract if it wasn’t terminated then you owe the money for that contract and after a year it’s probably with a debt collection company.     Did you terminate it ?

I paid everything, I told them to close the account and leave only the card, and they will close everything
