Hello to anybody reading this,
I got a Pixel 7 Pro. Initially, I tried putting my GiffGaff SIM in from my old phone, it didn't work. I put it back in my Huawei Mate 20 X, and it was like it had fried the SIM. After running around in circles, I came to the conclusion that virtual tariffs don't work on the Pixel 7 Pro.
I know EE Sims work, as I've seen contract deals online with EE, and my phone doesn't say "SIM not allowed." It just says "EE - No Service." It's been in my phone for 24 hours, no bars.
I am trying to activate my SIM, to absolutely no avail. I'm pretty tech savvy, I can usually figure things out like this on my own. However, not this.
Its my first EE SIM. I am at the stage where it says "we will text a code to your new number, please enter the code to verify it is you."
I can't do this, because the SIM has no bars/no service. I have tried rebooting my phone and like I said, waiting 24 hours for service to appear. All I have is an explanation mark/no bars for the little symbol that shows you what signal you have.
I tried to call EE on my old phone, and it asked for my EE number. I typed in the number I was given, but it says it can't help, probably as the SIM isn't activated. Getting through to EE is pretty much impossible (for me at least, at this point) this forum is my last resort.
What on Earth can I do to sort this out? I can't get in touch with EE, they have no live chat which is an absolute joke/no email, I'm at a complete loose end.
I've read many forums and viewed many YouTube videos...nothing. I can't get this SIM (or any SIMnfor that matter) to work on this phone.
Funnily enough, my GiffGaff and SMARTY SIM cards I tried first actually worked on my Pixel 7 Pro temporarily, whilst I was at home and connected to WiFi. However, when I left, they stopped. I still managed to text from them and had people receive texts with the number on the each SIM had.
I've been all over the EE forum, found no solutions. I'm saying this, so someone doesn't see this and post obvious solutions that I will have already tried. May I add that I have also used the coverage tool to see if my area has coverage. My area has good coverage, it even has 5G coverage with 3 bars showing, so decent levels of 5G are in my area and excellent 4G, with 5 bars.
I have also tried calling 0800 0798586 - I cannot get through. It says "this number is either wrong, or a different service provider", then cuts me off. I have to give an EE number first to be able to get through, and this is my first EE SIM, so I don't have any old ones I could use. I have also tried calling 0800 956 6000, which you can supposedly call from any service provider, which isn't true, it results with the same thing happening as the first number.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I just want this phone to work so I can start using it. Thanks in advance for any help👍

This does not work, you cannot call this number from any working phone. I tried, it has to be an EE number or you just get cut off.
I have the same issue and absolutely nothing is working & I cannot get in touch with EE at all.

Try calling CS on +44 800 956 6000 (option 2 > option 4) . That won't ask for an EE mobile no.

Hi,
Thanks for that, I have actually managed to get through to a line that is currently ringing/I'm waiting for someone to answer.
If I manage to get through and get sorted then I'll rate your answer as best answer, like it, and so forth.
Thanks for the help. Hopefully I can get sorted 😅
Btw, I wasn't already an EE customer. When I ordered the SIM, I didn't pay online. I ordered a free SIM to activate myself and pay when I got it etc. Should I have ordered a pre-paid SIM to stick in my phone seeing as I'm a new EE customer, or should that not make a difference? Lmk what you think, thanks👍
Kind regards,
T

Thanks! You're welcome 🙂 ! Glad I could be of assistance & hope it soon gets sorted.
The free SIM you ordered is PAYG or pre-paid.
