I have read lots of helpful answers re Roaming in Canada.
Before reading these I thought it would cost £25 for a Roam Abroad Pass which would give me a month and then I would cancel it on my return to avoid another monthly charge.
BUT I now think the following and would be grateful if someone would confirm.l try to explain.
We travel about 5 days before my billing cycle ends. If I activate a monthly pass I understand it will cost £25 even though there are only a few days to the end of my billing cycle. I will then need the pass active into the next billing cycle as we are away for a couple of weeks. If I cancel it before the end of my next billing period I think the original month is charged prorata and then plus the £25. So probably about £35/£40 in total. Is that correct?
Also with the pass I understand I can use all my usual package allowances - Calls Texts and Data.
Does this include the Data Boost GB's that are part of my plan each month?
Many thanks for everyones help from a non techy older lady who is anxious to keep in touch whilst on hol.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

When you first request the billing add-on, it's activated immediately and charged pro-rata for the remaining days in that bill cycle.
For all future bills, the pass remains active until the end of the cycle in which you request cancellation.
Remember to also enable the (free) roaming facility which unlocks access to foreign networks, without which you won't get coverage outside the UK. This is normally done by texting ROAMING to 150.

@Woodentops55 : That's correct! It'll cost you around £29.
The Roam Abroad Pass costs £25 per billing month from the billing month you order it (text ROAMING PASS to 150) until the billing month you cancel it (text STOP ROAMING PASS to 150). For all billing months during which you have the Pass it is charged at the full £25. However if the Pass is carried over from the 1st billing month to the next it will be charged pro-rata for that 1st month alone.

Hi @Woodentops55.
Thanks for coming here.
Did you receive your data boost for being a Home Broadband customer?
If yes, your data boost can only be used whilst roaming in Europe.
More information on this can be found by visiting our Getting Data Boost as a Home Broadband customer help page.

Hi Katie
No we don't have ee broadband. The data boosts were just to encourage us to stay I think.

Hi @Woodentops55.
Thanks for getting back to me.
I'd recommend checking with our customer care team.
They will be able to tell you if your data boost is eligible to be used whilst roaming.
Katie 🙂
