Hi @Jacktaylor1

It sounds like you don't have roaming activated on your account. Assume you did not receive a welcome text.

You'll need to use another device and contact EE here: https://ee.co.uk/help/contact-ee

You can also try the message feature on the EE app on WiFi.

Thanks

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

Hi @Jacktaylor1

Welcome to the community.

I recommend following @Northerner's advice and speak with our customer support team, as soon as you're able to. They'll be able to do some checks on how your SIM is set up, and help make sure you choose the right plan for your trip.

Let us know how you get on please.

Chris

@Jacktaylor1 : Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto.

Did you receive a Welcome text upon arrival?

Are you on contract or PAYG? Had you used that SIM for making calls or texts in UK before leaving to go abroad?

If you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before leaving UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming billing add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c. Having roaming activated on your EE a/c, not just on your device, is crucial to using your contract SIM abroad.

Otherwise if you are on contract you need to call CS to get your roaming activated. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. using a web-calling app over WiFi.

@Jacktaylor1  If the phone is saying “no sim” take it out and give it a clean.  Having roaming enabled will not help if the phone can’t see the sim.  Phones will say no sim if it’s a faulty sim or the sim needs a clean.

I’ve pulled the sim out nothing is working I’ve had this new phone just over a month now

@Jacktaylor1  you have two issues one being no sim in device shown, so have you cleaned the sim and put it back in ?  Use a damp cloth and make sure it’s dry before you put it back in.

And issue two is,  did you enable roaming on your account before you left the UK, if not you’ll not connect to a roaming network as roaming being enabled is an EE account option.

Does the device still say no sim ? After it’s been cleaned and put back in to the device?

No one will contact you from this user discussion group other than thro' the medium of these forums by posts such as this. Anyway we haven't the faintest idea who you are. You need to phone CS.
