EE Roaming

Hello. All my family‘s SIMs are unlimited and have the ‘Roam in EU’ add-on, they’re all either the Essentials Plus or Full Works plans. I have set the spend cap to £0 because I don’t want to incur any additional charges for anything. But I keep reading on EE’s website that roaming will only work if I set the spend cap to at least £20. I’m confused - if it’s included in my plan, why do I need a minimum £20 spend cap on top? Can you clarify please? Thanks.

Where have you read this?

There have been some instances where it has resolved specific issues.

Hello - when I tap ‘spend cap’ on the app it asks ‘are you travelling abroad?’ and says ‘if you are travelling abroad sometime soon, you’ll need to set a minimum cap of £20’. If I click ‘yes I’m travelling abroad’ it sets the spend cap to £20 and asks me to confirm.

Hi @MT248

Thanks for reaching out here on the community.

The message you can see in the app is an automatic message to cover the daily roaming charges if Roaming is not included in your plan.

If your plan includes roaming and you are travelling to somewhere included in your plan allowances you will not need to increase your spend cap.

You can find more information about Getting ready to use your phone abroad on this page.

Thanks
