Your phone won't be set up for roaming in general. It may very well be set up for Data Roaming but that has no consequence on whether you are able to roam on EE nor on how you can pay for it. The latter is what a Roaming Pass is for.

You'll receive a Welcome text upon arrival at a country giving your roaming options & the opportunity to buy Roaming Passes.

If you are on contract, you may use your usual UK allowances in the EE ROW Zone 1 with up to 50 GB data per billing month if you have more, when you buy the Zone 1 Pass for £6 / day, £30 / week or £50 / 15 days or already have it as an Inclusive Extra or you have an EE Full Works or EE Max Plan. Otherwise you will need to pay the charges or buy roaming add-ons as set out in https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/roaming/roaming-costs/ > USA.

If you are on contract, just remember to text ROAMING to 150 before leaving UK to ensure the roaming ability is enabled on your no.

If you are on PAYG, just make sure you had already used your PAYG SIM to make a call or text in the UK.

Hi @Dipsp

It's not about your phone it is about your tariff.

What tariff are you on or are you on EE PAYG.

Thanks

@Dipsp , if you need a lot of data, I suggest you use wifi wherever possible, as when roaming if on pay as you go I believe it is 25 GB and when on contract it is 50 GB.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using web based app or another phone: +44 7953 966 or +44 330 123 1105.

Hi @Dipsp

Being set up for roaming simply means you have the access to connect to a network abroad, but doesn't cover the cost of it.

Whereas a roaming pass covers the cost to pay for the usage.
