I'm with EE but bought a new phone that I have had to top up when purchased. Can I just put my old SIM in the new phone? Do I keep my old number, what happens to credit on existing credit and new credit with the phone?

Hi @Deodata
Thanks for coming here 🙂
You can use your SIM card in any EE or unlocked phone, and this will keep the existing plan, number and any credit.
Thanks 🙂
Leanne.

@Deodata : But you lose the PAYG credit that came with the new phone. That's why it's never a good idea to buy a PAYG phone from EE, with its mandatory credit, when you already have a PAYG SIM from EE. Better to buy a SIM-Free phone outright from somewhere like Amazon.

Hi @Deodata
It is the SIM that holds your number & associated plan and credit - not the phone.
The device just provides the ability to use EE's radio network.

But you can have your number moved to the new sim and that will bring the credit over to the new sim and any credit on that new sim will also remain.

You can't add PAYG credits together. It's just the no. that is transferred, not the plan or credit.

My existing ee phone is on a monthly contract, but even with the £10 credit it was still the same price as others or cheaper. That said can I transfer that credit to my existing sim?
