I currently have two sims on my account, 1 I use, the other my son uses, now he is of age , he wants his own account, so he can pay for it himself and choose a plan he wants. He wants to keep his number. Is this possible. Or does he open his own account with new sim and new number. Thanks.

You've posted in the PAYG section of the forum, which implies your son's number is a PAYG one? If so, there's no concept of age and your son can use the PAYG > pay-monthly switch service - https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/upgrade/pay-as-you-go-upgrades
On the other hand, if your son's line is on your account, there's a good chance he is on a pay-monthly contract plan. In which case, you can do a legal change of ownership whereby he undertakes a credit check and becomes the legal account holder. The process is outlined under "transfer to a friend, colleague or family member" under https://ee.co.uk/help/profile/manage/change-my-account-in-the-case-of-a-life-event
Your son will retain his number as a matter of course. Be aware that if you currently use data gifting between numbers on your account, this will be lost if one number is migrated to its own account.

Thank you for your reply, so I should have made it clearer, my account is a pay as you go 30day plan.

Thanks for reply, he would like to sign up to a pay as you go, 30 day rolling plan.

Ah, OK, I thought he wanted his own contract.
Then all you need do is remove his no. from your a/c & add it to his own new a/c. He'll continue using the same SIM & no interaction with EE is necessary.
