What is included in the Rest of the world add-on (£3) for pay as you go sim cards?

Does it allow to send texts and call and how long does it last? Does it work for the US and Canada?

@Lala59 : What Rest of World add-on? All I'm aware of is the Select Rest of World IDD add-on for PAYG. That is 100 call mins to various non-EU countries from the UK for £3 for 30 days.
