New Pay as You Go Sim not receiving texts

Hi, 

Received a new sim card yesterday and placed it into my phone. I got texts from EE saying everything is set up and instructions on how to top up too.

 

For some reason, I can’t receive any texts from anyone, it keeps failing to send on their side. I’ve asked family members to try text the phone number but no luck. 

 

Any suggestions? It says there’s an error activating the SIM card on the website, which makes sense I guess as it’s already topped up and I’ve been able to text others

Jut to check, when you mention this being a new SIM, is this a brand new pay as you go number, or a replacement SIM for an existing number you have with us?

What model of phone are you using too, and can you try sending a message to your own number?

Yes it’s a new pay-as-you-go sim card, with a new number. 

 

I first tried in an iPhone 13 Pro and then in an S24 Ultra. Also, yes, I am able to message myself

Thanks @rgg2000, which is the main phone that you intend to use this SIM with?

If it's the iPhone, do you know if people are able to still message you via iMessage?

Is it every single person that texts you that gets this error as well, or only certain people?

I'd also recommend doing a restart on your phone as well, just in case this can help kick any fresh settings with the SIM into gear.
