Easyfone

I bought an Easyfone for my 93 year old mother who struggles to use IT. This phone has 4 buttons only to dial 4 nominated people. It does not do texts. I put an EE payg sim in. When I  wanted to check the credit balance I dialled 1250 but got a message saying calls to this number are barred. Given I can't text from this phone can anyone tell me how I can check the balance?

you need to dial 150 instead of 1250
