EE Sim PAYG

I wish to purchase or acquire an EE PAYG sim without any data plan.

The Sim only, and buy plan later does not allow you to proceed with getting the sim without then buying a sim plan - which is exactly what I don't want. I just want a sim to put into a spare iphone as a standby, and just put a few £'s credit on that account, as a back-up. I'm not interested in data for it. I'd be happy to put some credit on it to prove it's use, but not a data plan.

Is this possible, or not.

All EE PAYG SIMs come primed with a recurring Pack of allowances ready to bought out of your PAYG credit as soon as it is sufficient.

Text STOP PACK to 150 before you 1st top-up & you can use the SIM for calls & texts but not data as normal PAYG at standard per-unit rates paid for out of your standing PAYG credit balance.

To save the SIM going into hibernation due to lack of use, just remember within every 179 days (~ 6 months) to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying a Pack or Add-on, not just using your mins, texts or data from any Pack or Add-on you might have.

So, are you still buying the Data pack first time around, or can you text STOP PACK before you add any credit to it? Do you have to pay for this pack up-front to receive the sim?

You can get a Free PAYG SIM & text STOP PACK before you add any credit. That will prevent the initial pack that it came with from starting.
