EE Watch Plan is not compatible with Galaxy Watch 6 Lte

I had a Watch plan with EE on my Google Pixel Watch LTE and I've been offered an upgrade for a new device. I choose the Watch-Plan pair deal and I got the Galaxy Watch 6 LTE.

I couldn't pair the watch plan on my new watch and I called them and after a long chat they raised an investigation and the outcome was that EE watch plans and Galaxy Watch 6 LTE are not compatible 🤦🏻‍♂️. And their suggestion is to connect my watch with my phone through Bluetooth and use it like this😤

So I'm paying for a watch plan which has 24 months contract and I cannot use it on my new Galaxy Watch 6 LTE which I bought from EE directly and which is combined with this Watch plan.

This is absurd and ridiculous.

Why EE sells a deal of a Watch Plan combined with a Watch (which released on 2023) when you cannot use them together? And there are no information about this ridiculous issue on EE's website. It's like you getting an EE Mobile Plan and a mobile from EE but you cannot use the data, calls, or texts from this Mobile plan to that mobile and EE doesn't warn you about this.

Hi Chris, EE called me and recommended it.

They know what phone I am using. And sold me the cellular version knowing full well it won't actually work.

Are you still having this issue? I was not aware of this, only that certain features in Samsung Health don't work on non Samsung phones..

Hi James

I have an unlimited EE sim. Can I pair my new Samsung Watch6 LTE to my phone contract, so when someone calls me my watch will also ring, ie same number as phone. If this is possible where are the instructions for doing this? I understand I need a £7 Onenumber contract from EE?

Hi @fao_steve,

Yes, you can do that. You should see a prompt to add an EE plan during setup in the Galaxy Wearable app.

Hi James

Is that to add my phone's plan to the watch, if so, am confused as I thought I need to take out a plan for the watch - for example, the £7 per month unlimited watch data plan? On Vodafone, you take out a watch plan (Onenumber), then add the watch to the plan using a QR code using the phone/watch, and this uses the phone's plan. Can I do this with my EE online account?

Hi @fao_steve,

The setup is all done through the Galaxy Wearable app. Once setup, the watch will have its own data allowance so it can stay connected when away from your phone, and will use your phone's inclusive minutes and texts.
