Apple Watch Unpaired Plan Contract

I purchased an Apple Watch on an unpaired plan to have a watch that had a separate number than my phone. I received the watch however I am only able to set it up in family member set up for someone else which wasn't clear when purchasing.

After doing some research I've found doing so restricts a lot of the features of the watch. I would be happy changing the contract to a paired plan, is this something that can be done without having to return the watch?

Watches can't be used as a standalone account with its own number.

You need to call ER and see if they can move it to a paired account now.
