Good afternoon @KMC74, welcome to the EE Community!

Our services are being streamlined to help ensure we are focused on offering the most relevant, newest capabilities and functionality to customers going forward.

This means that the ability to make calls over the EE network via your Alexa device will be disabled, but the Alexa device can still be used to call other Alexa devices as this is not facilitated by the EE network.

It may be a minority who use the service. But there are a lot of disabled including blind people who use it. Will ee be offering another solution to these customers?

Removing the Alexa calling capability and functionality is a backward step, and one that EE should reconsider.  It is a very useful feature, and will be a significant loss to many.

With home automation making advances every year, it's strange that EE are backing out of the connection with alexa.

My wife is visually impaired and can’t use a mobile phone to dial numbers,The ability to use Alexa to call family and friends was a godsend, she is now going to be isolated due to EE (or Amazon)disconnected the service.Shame on them for ignoring the needs of the disabled who depend on this service.

Its such a handy tool for those with disabilities. I do hope either Amazon or step in with a replacement service.

Good morning @JAMESROSS1502, welcome back to the Community.

I can really appreciate your disappointment that this feature is no longer available, and it's certainly the last way we would want your wife to be left feeling.

Whilst Alexa Calling will no longer be available, there are still a range of options available on modern smartphones to help customers with visual impairments.

This can differ depending on the model of phone, but the RNIB have put together a guide for both Apple and Android devices that highlight the options available.
