iPhone 14 pro max update

We payed off one of our contracts on the 2nd of November so we could order the iPhone 14 pro max black 256gb for my sons 18th birthday the lady in store assured us we would get it before his birthday on the 4th of December, we’ve had no communication at all not only that we were billed 4 days after completely paying the old contract off? We don’t even have the phone yet and no direct answer to when, so what was the bill for?

I’ve been waiting since 29th October for same phone still no delivery date yet

I’ve been checking what EE have been saying on here about that model and some say 14 days some within 21 and now for every model they are saying more than 28 days, when I ordered it was within 21 days even though the store assistant said about 14 days lol but assured it would be before his birthday and now going by what I’m reading I very much doubt it 😏
