Unfortunately my phone broke whilst abroad i do have insurance but im also eligable to upgrade. When i try to upgrade it keeps saying they will text or email me to keep me updated which I wont have access too!
Can you receive the update emails on another device? A laptop, tablet or other phone? There is no way of receiving your text messages other than on your SIM/device.
Also be aware that device deliveries can only be made to your UK registered address.
