Anyone had experience with DPD delayed parcels over the weekend? Was expecting a tech order to arrive on Saturday (7th November) unfortunately it was misrouted from the sorting hub to a delivery depot at the other side of the country to me, I received the same update twice within a minute of each other stating they’d sorted the delay and that Sunday (today 8th November) was the new delivery date as a result the expectation was that the item would make its way from the wrong depot to the correct depot through Saturday/Sunday night/early hours of the morning and arrive today unfortunately that hasn’t been the case and the tracking has automatically updated (not a physical scan) today to say there’s a delay in the area. After speaking with DPD Escalation’s Team (not main customer service) and my actual local delivery depot they’ve both given different pieces of info, the Escalations Team expected it to make its way direct from the wrong depot to the correct one (NOT passing through a main sorting hub) and be out for delivery today now it hasn’t they don’t seem to be able to give an answer, my local delivery depot says it would leave the incorrect depot, go back to a main sorting hub then leave there to the correct depot but misroutes on a weekend aren’t resolved until Sunday night into Monday morning, I’m inclined to believe the delivery depot more as they’d be familiar with depot processes more but wondering if anyone has had a similar situation over a weekend? I’ve contacted EE and biggest issue with them is they insist that there has to be a 48 hour window where the parcel does not receive a scan before they can open a query with DPD which would be from 9:58am on the 7th November so 9:58am on the 9th will be when they can open the query but I know now they’re going to see the automated message timed at 10.30am on the 8th and say the 48 hours will re-start from there in which case because the system automatically leaves such messages every 24 hours or so if the package has not been physically scanned the 48 hours is just going to re-start and re-start.
