Why is it more expensive to upgrade my phone rather than add another phone to my account?
Contract up in about 6 weeks (I know ive got a little left on my current contract to pay) so I've been looking at options and my son is in need of a phone now so I've been looking at what would be most cost effective. I looked at my upgrade cost which would be 56.50 a month and then getting him a sim at 12 a month and my old phone, I then looked at adding a new phone to my account exactly the same phone and plan and it was 48.50 a month. Why is the difference between an upgrade and adding another line so much? Am I missing something obvious?

Hi @victoria-lou Thanks for getting in contact with us here at the Community.
We offer incentives for adding a new contract on to your account as a percentage discount, we have a dedicated page which explains more about the additional line discount, just click this link here: Additional line discount
I'd love to see you get a great deal for your upgrade, I'd recommend speaking with our upgrades team by dialling 150 from your EE phone then selecting options 1, 4 then 2, and they can take a look to see if they can do any better deals than you can see on line.
