International Calls & Texts From the UK
Making International calls & texts from the UK are always chargeable & are not included in any allowances. Some might mistakenly believe that they count towards roaming allowances but when in the UK you are not roaming.
International calls & texts can be rather expensive but EE has a free add-on that anyone, on PAYG or £2.16 on contract, can apply for to give these calls & texts at a fraction of the standard rates. To do so just text CALL ABROAD to 150. It will then last forever on your account.

I had been thinking there was something more dramatic involved than what I was seeing. For some reason I was comparing the two charts in the original post without checking what they actually were charts of!

Thanks for this info... I’m trying to find out the current charges (April 2023) and whether the ‘Free’ Add on is now being charge at £2 per month (Monthly contract). Can you clarify this? Thanks

I have checked on my account under Usage and there is no £2 monthly charge coming out of my account, and my international calls are extremely cheap. See https://shop.ee.co.uk/calling-abroad (middle panel)

@MEGBOM22 : I believe there is now a £2 / month for Call Abroad on new contracts but not PAYG.

Yes, thank you, I’ve found that, and I’m on a monthly contract... I was just trying to find out what the reduced rates are if I spend that £2!

Thanks, but I’m on a monthly contract, and this seems to apply to payg. I’m just tying to find the current rates to see if it’s worth spending the £2/month!

Would help if you posted the current information at the top, or simply deleted the redundant information I have just spent £2 I didn't need to........
