Roaming in US

Trying to add the £15 roaming add on to my account for the US and keep getting technical issues. Very frustrating as I was assured this would be easy and to do it just before I fly. Luckily I am trying 24 hours in advance but am not concerned this will not work. All my 3 phones on family account t have same issue.
