So I have a pay monthly phone and I have an add on where if I use roaming abroad, it is £2.47 a day. EE also have the option to buy a 'roam abroad pass' where I get my plans texts, minutes and data while away which is £25 a month. This works out cheaper for me. If I bought this monthly pass, will the £2.47 a day be cancelled out or am I going to get two bills?
Thanks 🙂

The Roam Abroad Pass completely takes over from the daily charge whilst you have it. It covers every day whether you use any of your allowances or not. While the daily charge is levied only on the days you use any of your allowances. So do the maths.

Defo going to be on my phone everyday and I’m away for 45 days. Even if I bought two monthly passes at 25 per month, it’s cheaper than the 2.47 a day. Thanks for ur help!

Another contributor has answered your question about 'double billing', but you also need to look out for the trap of paying more than you expect for Roam Abroad. If you start Roam Abroad say 10 days before your billing cycle ends, and let Roam Abroad run it's course for 30 days, so it ends 20 days into your new billing cycle, you'll be charged pro-rata for the first period (10 of 30 days, so about £8.33) and £25 for the second period. I think EE should change the way it describes the pricing of Roam Abroad: it's only £25 for 30 days if all 30 days fall in a single billing cycle. This is fine if you plan you trips abroad to coincide with your mobile phone billing cycle, but potentially tricksy if, like most of us, you don't 😕. My 30 days of Roam Abroad (which only included 8 days of actual roaming) just cost me over £45. EE is applying the T&C's to the letter, so I have to pay, but that doesn't make it any easier to swallow 😡

It already does! See How Do I Get the Roam Abroad Pass? :
How much does the Roam Abroad Pass cost?
£25 per month. This cost will be added to your monthly mobile bill and will appear as a separate line in the add-ons section of your bill. If you add this service in the middle of your monthly billing period then the cost in the first month will be prorated.
How do I remove my roaming pass?
If you cancel during your monthly billing period you’ll be charged £25 for the full month, not just for the days you had the pass.
