EU roaming add-on duration and billing cycle

Hi all,

First post.  I am hoping someone can help me.

I am about to go travel to France for 15 days from 17th through 31st August inclusive.   I have previously paid the daily charge (£2.47) to use my own allowances, but since this is a longer trip the £25 per month add-on might be better value.

I have read elsewhere that the remainder of the first month is pro-rata then £25 per Month after that (in advance I believe).  My billing cycle ends on 28/08/24 - So does that mean that I would be paying 11 days of pro rata ([£25 / 30] x 11 = £9.17) plus a full month at £25 so total of £34.17?

Have I understood right this is the minimum commitment?  - I.e. there is no option to cancel the add on and only pay for the part Month (£9.17) then pro-rata the remainder days?  And this isn't Monthly just from the point of saying "yes"?

It's an interesting one because If I just went pro-rata  15 x £2.47 = £37.05 it's only £3 more but the benefits are - No forgetting to cancel the top-up ( I have No other travel plans beyond this), and I could in theory save some days by turning off data and using wifi hot spots whilst away, only 2 days of this would make it worthwhile.)

Hello @pickard24 ,

Welcome to the community,

You could always ring customer service and tell them the dates, then it will automatically be cancelled once back in the UK, just an idea.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using web based app or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

The pass is pro-rata from date of adding until the end of that bill cycle. It then remains active & charged until the end of the bill cycle when you request cancellation.

In your case, your bill cycle of the 28th means a cancellation upto or including the 27th would cancel on the 27th and incur £2.47 daily charges for any EU-roaming days beyond that.

Otherwise the pass remains on your 28th bill, and assuming you cancel during that cycle, remains charged and available until 27th of the following month.

Yes, it'll be as you calculated (£34.17).

The Roam Abroad Pass costs £25 per billing month from the billing month you order it (text ROAMING PASS to 150) until the billing month you cancel it (text STOP ROAMING PASS to 150). For all billing months during which you have the Pass it is charged at the full £25. However if the Pass is carried over from the 1st billing month to the next it will be charged pro-rata for that 1st month alone.
