Discount scam call

QAdams
Visitor

Yesterday I received calls from an 0203 number saying from EE and I was eligible for a discount. I queried this and was put through to a manager. I was then called back by another 0203 number and again I queried this as a scam. I was told they worked for EE and asked for my email address as worked for sales so no access to customer details! I hung up. On calling EE I was told to ask for the individuals ee email address and pin authentication code. I’ve been called back today same person but this time an 0204 number and when I asked for his email address he gave the ombudsman email address! Very persistent for a scam!

Hi @QAdams

Thanks for coming here to make others aware of a potential scam.

If you're ever suspicious about an incoming call, it's best to hang up and call EE directly.

The same thing happened to me today from a number in London, but you could just tell from the level of customer service that this wasn’t EE. The number that called me was 020 7205 4343.

Hi @Irene_Lloyd

I've had a look and that number isn't one of ours, nor one of our direct partners.

You can report this number by texting CALL followed by the number that called you to 7726.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
