Digital Prepaid Card T&Cs

Hi there,

I upgraded online on the 17th of November with my new contract starting on the 20th,

At this time the prepaid digital card offer was running, i did a bit of research on this offer and saw that it would be at least 15 days before i got any message in regards to this offer.

I've done a bit .ore research and saw that as an early upgrade I'd be exempt from this offer, regardless of the fact that each step of the upgrade process on the website saying i was eligible, there is no mention of this exemption on the digital cards T&Cs directly seen here.

https://www.eerewardclaim.co.uk/about/termsandconditions

However after looking speaking to an agent via MyEE live chat I was given this list

Matthew, I've found the terms and conditions It's really important that none of these discounts are added otherwise the customer will not receive the card.

NOT ELIGIBLE:

Employee Option 50/75%

Retentions Discounts

High Street Match – Retail

20% PAC discount

25% high churn risk discount

All EUF waive campaigns

No discretionary discounts (incl. Regional Manager discounts)

Good As New

HS>HS Google 7 £5 MRCD

Sim>HS Google 7 £4 MRCD

Enhanced Trade In on Samsung S22+ £14MRCD

Flex Pay Plans

I can only assume I come under the retentions discount.

However the waiving of my early upgrade fee which was roughly £70 was only on phones that advertised the prepaid digital card.

While I may not end up still being eligible for the digital card I would like to point out this could be seen as very predatory and miss leading on future offers to other customers.

Hi @MattR_88

Did they confirm if you are or aren't eligible for it?

Chris

Hi @Christopher_G

Thanks for replying

The agent from the chat team sent this message

"You're welcome Matthew. I've just checked and would like to inform you that as you processed the deal as Early upgrade so in that you are not eligible for the digital card and there are many other terms and conditions in which it says you are not eligible for other promotional deals"

Before they sent the list of discounts of the T&Cs that would mean I'm not eligible.

So I'm just confused as to how I'm not eligible, since as mentioned in my opening post the only discount I got was the waiving of my early upgrade which was only applicable to contracts and phones that came with the prepaid card offer. But at the same time when I was going through the order process I'm certain it did mention that I was eligible for the offer

Hi

I added an additional line to my account on 29/10 and was informed that I would be eligible for the pre paid MasterCard but I still haven't had any message about the offer. I spoke to someone in complaints and they informed me that I was missed off the automated list and that I should have the code by the 2nd which was Friday but still I haven't received anything. Please can someone help me?

It sounds like the early upgrade fee was waived, @MattR_88. The part of the that list the agent you spoke to gave you that says 'all EUF waive campaigns' is talking about the removal of early upgrade fees.

I'm sorry to hear that, @Weav811.

I'd suggest speaking to our Mobile Care team again so that they can check on it for you.

Hi @Christopher_G

I can't recall, due to being told that I'm not eligible I'd say that it was discounted, which adds further confusion and a hint of frustration that the upgrade cost was discounted only on contracts/handsets that came with this offer.

Paying £70 to upgrade early to gain access a virtual prepaid card of any value above that amount would have been an easy choice to make for anyone.

If that is the case I can't help but feel that it was advertised in a very predatory way, directing people towards higher cost contracts.

I needed to upgrade anyway and the offer did play a part of my choice in what contract I went for, I should have done more in depth research but the only T&Cs I saw were from the link I posted in my first post.

It may be worth calling again to discuss this further, @MattR_88. They'll be able to look into it further and get you a link if you're eligible.

Chris

Thanks for all your help today Chris I'll do just that.
