Does apple one activation come by text or imessage. And when will I receive the message it has been 3 days since the upgrade and 4 calls to support and still nothing.

I went through this with customer services to activate but Ive now noticed AppleCare billing me £5.99 a month for thus when it should be free. What’s gone wrong…?
