Apple TV+ trial not working

I have been sent a text message from EE with a link to register for the 6 months free trial of Apple TV+. Selecting the link on my iPhone takes me to safari and then redirects to AppleTV. It shows a 'Cannot Connect' error. How do I get it to work?

I found the answer, which others may find useful (as EE didn’t provide instructions). 
In TV+ on the phone, go into profile then into Manage Subscriptions. You should see an EE invite which needs to be accepted.

I am having the same issue and solution mentioned doesn't exist for me. Got the text from EE, clicked link and created an AppleID, but it didn't ask for my phone number and I am not showing as having a subscription or 6 month trial on Apple Tv. Apple TV add-on is showing on EE account with subscription lasting until June 2024 but I don't have access to AppleTv.

What type of phone are you using?

Have you tried following the link over mobile data, rather than WiFi?

Are you using a VPN?

Hi, Samsung/Android phone. When I clicked on the link it took me to Apple TV and I created an apple id with my email address as it said to, so now the link just takes me through to AppleTV to signed in on wifi or 4g. I don't have a  vpn. But I don't have the free Subscription on my AppleTV account asks me to sign up to 7 day trial or pay. When I go to settings there are no other options but the normal subscription.
