Whenever I try to send a regular sms message to people (I’ve messaged before ok) and I include a hyperlink or web address, it fails to send saying “not delivered”.
if I text them without any hyperlinks then it goes through fine.
I’ve reset network settings, turned mms off/on, turned sms off/on, restarted and hard reset the phone, tried with/without Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi calling.
Software version is current iOS 15.5 on iPhone 11 Pro Max.
iMessage is unaffected of course.

Hi @Priortothat,
Welcome back to the community. 🙂
If you are including a website link in your message, your phone may convert it into an MMS message. Have you enabled MMS messaging in your settings? If you don't have any MMS messages included in your plan, sending it will be chargeable.

I have indeed. I’ve enabled/re-enabled all related settings as you’ll see in my original post.
As for mms in my plan, I can only imagine it’s enabled as it’s a full fat iPhone plan and I call abroad a lot, so I can’t see why it wouldn’t be. Will call 150 but forget they only work limited hours which is silly, so couldn’t over the weekend.

Are you using a pay as you go or pay monthly plan @Priortothat
If pay monthly, do you have a spend cap on your account?

I’m on pay monthly. No spend caps or any restrictions that I’m aware of. I’ve not requested any anyway.

Hi @Priortothat,
Is there a spend cap showing in My EE? Go to Manage my device > Spend Caps to check.

I can confirm there are no spend caps set. Interestingly it’s showing up on my bill as a charge for a previously failed message that included links. I’ve been charged 61p for a picture message that failed to send.

It’s been 2 contacts so far. Neither have iPhones hence sending via sms, but I’ve not had to send web links to them before until now.
