Using my phone abroad

I'm paying extra to use my phone in Greece but when I try to ring a UK number including the EE helpline I get a message saying unauthorised selection.

I've tried changing network but it makes no difference.

Sounds like you're paying for a billing add-on, but the roaming facility itself is free of charge.

Have you been able to call UK numbers from Greece previously? Can you call Greek numbers? Can you send or receive texts? Can you use mobile data?

I'm having the same issue.

I arrived in Greece yesterday and I'm connected to NOVA.  The data works fine but I can't make any calls and the message says 'unauthorised selection' even though I have full bars

My Roaming is on as it always is. I travel in Europe a lot and have not had this issue before.

As I can't call out I'm unable to call the customer support number or 150!!

PLEASE HELP AS I NEED TO WORK FROM GREECE THIS WHOLE WEEK!!!!

Hi @jayrasul,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

If it is just calls that are affected, you may have an international calling bar on your account.

Our Customer Care Team will be happy to check if you're able to get in touch from another phone or a web based calling app.

James

I'll give them a call, thank you!

No problem @jayrasul 🙂

James

Turns out my Cal Roaming was switched off at EE and the Customer Advisor has now switched it back on.

Strange as I was just in Spain last month and I was able to make calls then.

Thanks again!

No problem @jayrasul

I'm happy to hear it was a simple fix.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip. 🙂
