Being with EE for years and have multiple lines and broadband for the family , few days ago upgraded my sim only to better package. And terror started!
Lost function of receiving and sending txt msgs, it looks like the sim has lost network credentials. Support team is usless and every time you call them then you have the txt message service which i camnot access as its not working. Absolute terror as most apps and businesses using now 2 factor authentification process via txt msg. In addition billing enquariy for doubling my bill during transision for no gain of benefits! Worst experiance ever with no time line to resolve... so frustrating! And expensive.

Just on the specific point of the SIM apparently losing ability to text....
Does the phone show a network connection? Unless you're using WiFi-calling, you need that to make or receive calls, send or receive texts, or use mobile data.
If you've got a working WiFi connection, you can use WiFi-calling. That's also a good test of whether the issue is network or account related. WiFi-calling uses the same authentication as the mobile network
