A couple of times, I've gotten a text to say I have an voicemail message but the phone hasn't rung, (wi-fi calling engaged, so can't be no signal), there is no record of the call in recents, and the message comes through hours after the call (today it was 5 hours later, with no recorded number for who called).
How is this happening and how can I sort it so that I actually get the phone call in the first place, or the voicemail comes through the app, rather than a text message?

@roz7 If for any reason your device lost Wi-Fi signal the call would fail so you’ll get a missed call alert if it’s not going through to voicemail I have to ask is voicemail enable ? Are and you test this to make sure it’s working.

I didn't get a missed call alert, nor did the phone ring at all. There is nothing in the recent call log; the first I knew of the call was 5 hours later, when I get a text about a voicemail message. There was nothing on the phone app to show I had a message, until I called voicemail and it said there was a new message from 8am.

Are you using Android or iOS? By default WiFi-calling will only kick in when mobile coverage is unavailable for whatever reason, but some Android phones have the option to alter this.
How long has this been happening?
