Can some one from customer care please sort this issue out

It's not any billing package or add-on that you need, it's the roaming facility to be enabled. If that is inplace on EE's network, then this is likely to a be local network issue.

Toggling flight mode and manually selecting an alternative local operator usually resolves this.

It sounds like you've travelled abroad without enabling roaming on your phone - this will prevent it connecting to any foreign networks.

Are you on PAYG or pay-monthly?

If PAYG - Phones are auto-enabled for roaming once they are used in the UK first

If pay-monthly - if you didn't enable by texting ROAMING to 150 before leaving the UK, only CS can now enable it for you. You can try a live-chat, otherwise will need to call them from another working phone or perhaps a web-calling app such as Skype.

My phone had been checked. I have the correct package as I go away a lot. I called up on Wed and get them to check it was in place

Hi @Amanda1271,

Did you try selecting another network manually?

For iPhone - Settings > Mobile Data > Network Selection > Turn off Automatic

For Android - Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Operators > Tap OK
