I just want to let my daughter roam while in the EU on a 10 day trip. She is within our family EE contract. I understand that, by texting ROAMING to 150 she should be able to activate the roaming at a cost of £2.29 a day, but there is another option which is the monthly roaming payment. I tried to call your call centre, to learn more about the options but all I managed to do is to receive a link that activated the roaming on my phone (which wasn't my intention).
1 - my phone is now ready to roam ... I hope I won't be charged for it whilst I'm in the UK?
2 - is texting ROAMING to 150 the day before leaving the country all she has to do, and will the extra charge last until she's roaming from abroad.
Can you please confirm the two points above?
Many Thanks

There are two separate concepts here.
1: Texting ROAMING to 150 merely enables the roaming facility, which allows the phone to connect to local networks in foreign countries. There is no charge for this, but without it a phone will not work abroad.
2: You will only now be charged when your daughter's phone is used on non-UK networks - within the EU you can either pay the £2.29 daily charge, or use the £15 monthly pass.

She needs to text ROAMING PASS to 150 to get charged £15/month while abroad. Otherwise she'll be charged £2.29/day while roaming in EU.

@Boodie Text ROAMING to 150 it doesn’t cost anything to have this enabled now. Don’t wait till the day before.
