My hubby is abroad and can't access his voicemail, though he never set up a pin for it. His contract is added to mine - do you think C/S will be able to help if I call them?

Whose name is your husband's phone in - who is the account holder?
If not yourself, do you have third party authorisation setup on your husband's account?
C/S will only discuss any account with either the account holder or an authorised third party - voicemail PIN resets are no exception.
