Random mobiles claiming I have called them

Hi, I’ve had lots

of calls today from various mobile numbers claiming I have miss called them - which I haven’t! I’ve checked call history too and shows no calls made by me.

I know others have had this too, but EE Haven’t been helpful with what to do to solve this issue. I’m concerned my personal data has been compromised by them if it is a network error as i was told.

I don’t want to change my number if I can help it.

any ideas on how to stop this and on what’s actually caused this?

Hi @sabsoshea

Welcome to the community.

Do the calls show in your call log?

Are these UK numbers?

Speak soon,

Katie

The calls don't show in my call list and the people who call back are doing
so on what looks like uk mobile numbers. The last guy who phoned me just
today was thankfully understand and felt bad I was going through this. Bit
notall the calls I get are nice.

I’m having the exact same issue

In the last month I’ve had over 40 mobile numbers call me saying they are returning a missed call from my number.

I’ve had this mobile number for 16 years and have never had anything like this.

All EE have said is that the only thing I can do is change my number which is annoying. I don’t want to have to change my number

Hi Katie,

This has recently started happening to me.

These calls do not show up on my log and are UK numbers.

Sometimes I will even receive a text saying I will call you back shortly, but haven't called anyone.

Please help.

Mine still does it not as much but still happens I never got ro the bottom
of it!

Hi.So I kept getting missed calls. As I was aware this would happen, as we had recently rescued a dog who had puppies who we were in need of selling,I assumed these numbers were regarding that. However, after weeks and weeks of me returning the calls to find that apparently none of these numbers had actually called I managed to answer one of them.It sounded like an AI job with a staggered woman telling me that I had submitted an online application for stocks. This was incorrect.I told her "No" and hung up.I then rang the number straight back and a gentleman picked up.I explained what had happened from his number just to inform him.It was nothing to do with stocks and he was just a normal regular guy.I made sure no info was given to the woman. All phone companies seem to say don't give any info out. When I talk to my friends and family now,we have a safe word.We just say one word that we all know to say/text,so we know that we are taking a call /from our actual family and friends ,otherwise we never know who could be on the other end.I had a message off my son saying he was in trouble and to call him back.He hadn't even text me and was fine. This scary event  was the last straw and so the "safe word " seems to be working well for us as the word is something noone would think of.hope this helps😊

I've not had the calls for months and out of the blue they have started
again a call from a woman with a Birmingham accent saying she had a missed
call from me and a man from Liverpool again claiming a missed call from me
I tried to explain I've not made the calls I had spoken to EE and they
just put a spending cap on my phone in case it's some kind of scam,
technologys great you gan get a number to appear on a screen but no Idea
how it's done or for what purpose
