Hey there @OMN.

Welcome to the Community!

If your family don't have any internet at all available right now, then sadly VoIP may not be an option, but it's worth giving a try if they have some means of getting connected.

When it comes to standard phone calls over the EE network, I'd recommend checking out our calling abroad pages, where it will give you an overview of the options available depending on the type of SIM you're using 😊

Hello @OMN ,

Welcome to the community,

Just take a look at apps on the App Store or google store and download and use them, you may need your family to have the same one.

If your family and you have Apple, then the cheapest is to use FaceTime, as it costs nothing to make calls.

I also have Mobile Voip, which means I can make cheap calls and it does not matter if you do not use it very often, as there is no 6 months of non use and you lose the money, it means it will always work and whatever money you put there, will always be there.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using web based app or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

Thank you for the reply but there is no internet there currently, I need to call or text at least. I’ll try the apps you suggested. Mobile voip is also an app? I heard long ago that iPhone can contact land numbers for free, maybe that’s true only to US, I couldn’t find anything like that.

Hello again, thank you very much for the information I think Im almost there, i downloaded the MobileVOIP app, during the setup which service provider to choose there are so many? Thank you

@OMN , register with VoipCheapUK, that is the service provider I use, and it is really reasonable, at least when I ring the EU.

I have had it so long, so did not realise you could choose the service provider.

@OMN , you can only use FaceTime when you both have IPhone, otherwise it will not work on IPhone, if you both have IPhone, then click on FaceTime and call the person you want to speak to, but they would need to have iPhone or iPad for it to work.

@Peter_W @OMN , that. VoIP cheap that I suggested works whether they have internet or not, so long as they have a landline or mobile, it does not matter, as I have done it in the past, if I remember rightly, it is a good one.
