Hi, I am currently abroad in the Netherlands and have passed through France and Belgium without being able to connect to any service in either country.
I am on a monthly plan and I have abroad roaming on. I have even gone to apple to check it might be my phone but it’s definitely the sim card there’s something wrong

@Maomaemse : As you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c.
Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto. Otherwise try logging into your MyEE account online & go to Menu > Account Settings > Parental and Data Controls > Roaming Abroad and also Call Abroad and Premium Rate. They will show as ticked if roaming and calling abroad is activated. If they are not ticked, can you activate these settings?
If you can't enable the Roaming Abroad and the Call Abroad & Premium Rate settings of your online MyEE, you will need to call CS. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. over Skype. It should be free.

@XRaySpeX I did not know about having to activate it beforehand as I traveled to Italy in April and that wasn’t a problem.
I have gone into the parental controls and everything is activated there. I have also tried choosing the network myself which doesn’t do anything either.
I’ve put it airplane mode, completely turned it off. Nothing seems to work

@James_B i have the add-on called £2 per day for EU roaming so I can’t see why i need to add a spend cap extra on when i already pay for it

Hi @Maomaemse,
If your spend cap is set at zero, you won't be able to use the add-on, as the charges would take you over the cap.

I should still be able to connect to a phone service without having 5G

Have you had any out of bundle charges this month that could have caused you to hit your spend cap?

I'm having the same issue.
One plus 10 pro phone. Dual SIM.
The SIM stopped working as soon as we took off and it's not even detecting any network/service in Netherlands.
I texted 150 ns turned roaming on before my flight yesterday.
Have tried going in the app, increasing my spend cap, ensuring roaming is on, settings are appropriate on the phone.
I can't even call or text EE bexiase of no service. What a disappointment.
Will be buying a new sim and stopping my contract with EE when I go home
