No data connection with Asus ZenFone 6

T0NYC
Explorer

I can make & receive calls and texts. But the data connection refuses to work. If I dial*#*#4636#*#* and look at the phone information part, it shows the preferred network type as gsm\wcdma\lte (prl). Data as not connected. The only time it showed as connected was when i changed the APN ip protocol to ipv4/ipv6 but that was just superficial as when i tested it, it had no throughput. The sim works as intended in a very old wileyfox from 2015. So i assume ee are blocking the data connection on my phone. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi @T0NYC

Thanks for coming here.

Are the APN settings correct in the device as shown in the EE APN Settings: Where to find them? article.

If the SIM card is working for data in a different phone this won't be blocked.

Leanne.

Hi Leanne,

The APN is the first thing I checked. I even reset the network settings on my phone (Bluetooth, Wifi & Mobile), turned the phone off then on again. It doesnt work. I know both sims slots work as I have previously had VirginMobile in the 1st one and o2 in the second.

OK, thanks for confirming, @T0NYC

It may be worth speaking with our technical support team to see if they can help with this.
