New pay as you go sim doesn't let me call

I have bought a pay as you go sim card to use while I am abroad. I set it all up fine and topped it up, but when I try to make a call it rings once and then the call cuts off so I am not even able to ring 150. How can I solve this issue?

Hi @Sabrina19

Thanks for coming to the community.

Did you make a call or send a text on the EE network when you were in the UK?

Thanks 🙂

Leanne.

Hi Leanne

Nope I didn't call them while I was still in the UK. I actually just had a
chance to set it up and tried to use it but it doesn't work. How can you
help?

Kind regards

Hi @Sabrina19

Thanks for coming back to me.

I am sorry, the SIM does need to be used on the EE network to make a call or send a text before this can be used abroad.

I'm afraid it won't be possible to activate the SIM until you return to the UK.

Leanne.

@Sabrina19 , unfortunately, you cannot rectify this whilst abroad, you have to first use the SIM card in the UK for it to work.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.
