Dear Community Board,
I hope this message finds you well. I am currently traveling outside the UK and have been experiencing an issue with my SIM card. During the first few months of my travel, I had no problems receiving text messages, including OTPs. However, I am now unable to receive text messages, and my phone displays "No service."
It's important to note that I have not made any changes to my phone settings, I am still paying my monthly bill as usual, and I am using the same phone. I would greatly appreciate any assistance or advice on how to resolve this issue and restore my SIM card's functionality while I am abroad.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards, Kofi

Hi @kofiwalker
Welcome to the community.
Is your SIM a pay monthly contract SIM or pay as you go? If it's pay as you go, when was the last time it was used for chargeable activity, such as making a call, sending a text or topping up?
Whereabouts are you?

I am currently on the following sim only plan ‘Ess SIM 25GB £25 12m’
I’m currently in Ghana and do not believe I’ve have any chargeable activity since I started my travel in Aug. Please note I also informed EE of my travel plans and no issues were raised hence my confusion

OK, thanks @kofiwalker
Have you tried manually connecting to a different available Ghanaian network?

No I have not - are there any resources on how to safely do this and are these any risks associated with this?
