Misinformed

I went to ee shop in blue water to take a new contract out . When I spoke to the lady I said I wanted to pay between £50 and £60 all inclusive she said no problem . When I was their she said do you want this ipad I said not really . She said its free . So I said ok . I be honest dont really check my bills but noticed I was getting 2 bills from ee the 2nd one being for £13:50 a month which i cancelled. Then I could get no Internet on my phone so I phoned ee and said I can't get Internet they said cos you cancelled payment . I said I was still paying the £70 bill she said no you cancelled the £13:50 so it automatically cancells your bill . I asked what the £13:50 was for on the 2nd bill she said you took the ipad. I said 1 what that got to do with my phone account and I never asked for thd ipad. Then I noticed my bills has been creeping up so phoned again she said you took insurance which I said I definitely didnt want . She agreed to cancell thd ipad payment even though I been paying for 20months plus the insurance which I never knew I had . My phone broke not so long ago which I paid to get fixed which I wouldn't of done if knew I was insured . So can I get a refund on the insurance and the direct debit I paid for 20 months on I had. This works out to over £400 which i feel I was not informed about and feel like been taken advantage of which is totally unfair ive always paid my bills on time

Hi @Bazzaeagle66

Welcome to the Community.

I'm disappointed to hear that there has been some confusion with your contract and bills, but I'm pleased that you've spoken with our team already, and they've been able to cancel any unwanted extras.

If you remain unhappy with the resolution already provided, I'd suggest calling our team back, opening a complaint, and discussing this further.

Hi @Bazzaeagle66

This is a classic misdirection as the iPad is "technically " free but you are charged for the data plan. If you search the forums you will see many posts on the same basis and it is terribly underhanded sales tactic which continues to this day. My dad fell for it a few years ago and ended up in a similar situation.

You should complain and then escalate: https://ee.co.uk/help/contact-ee/complaint

Thanks
