EE sim unable to connect to Laos networks?

Can EE not connect to any networks in Laos? Any that come up I try to connect manually but it just says 'the sim card does not allow a connection to this network'.

@JR85 , have you tried a manual search for a network in Laos? Sorry just read your original thread and you have tried a manual search, not sure why it is not working there, as roaming is enabled, not something EE can sort out then, as it has something to do with Laos.

Just one question, have people in Laos got network issues, by any chance?

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.
Yep, that's when I get the message that the SIM card can't connect.

Hi, having the same issue. When I try manual selection there is a list of 8 providers but none of them work. Can you please advise which network to select / how to get connected? I need to receive texts and calls with my UK number.

Did you text ROAMING to 150 before travelling?

I'm not using roaming, I just want to have access to receive and send texts and calls. I was in Thailand before this and had no issues.

To get a signal to receive calls and texts you would need Roaming active on your account. 

Have you restarted the phone?

Roaming is on, though I do not recall actively sending a roaming text before departure. It was working fine in other countries (I was in Europe before as well where I used roaming). I've reset my phone but I still cannot connect. Perhaps if you suggest which local provider I should use that can also help?

Hi @Ffm18 

You can try and select all that show available within your manual search, if none are working this may be you have EU Roaming activated on your EE account but not outside the EU. 

To check this, you would need to call us from any other phone or using a calling app. The number to call is +44 7953966250
