I’m out of the country, have purchased a roaming add on for £15, upped my spend cap to £20 - but can’t connect when not on wifi 😞

@Nmgibbons   Purchasing add ons and upping your spend cap does enable roaming on your account.   Add ons are just that an add on so you can use your allowances while abroad.     Having roaming enabled on your account allows your device to connect to a roaming network.    You’re going to have to contact customer services in order to request roaming be enabled on your EE account. 

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

To add, enabling the roaming facility is what allows your phone to connect to local networks in foreign countries.

You've alluded to not having a local network connection, is good evidence of roaming not being active.
