Selective Coverage in Aberdeen

Does anyone in Aberdeen have the same mobile experience as I do?   I live in the AB10 area of the city and find that whenever I leave my flat, coverage then becomes patchy at best, to non-existent at worst.   So, I only really receive good coverage when I am in my flat again.   This is very frustrating, particularly if you have urgent business to take care of.   Does anyone know have any ideas as to how I can use my mobile outside of my flat and my post code area?
